Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How long should a client wait for the document to be translated?
We provide three work timelines that can be adjusted to your needs, namely “regular”, “express” and “overnight”. To get an estimated timeline, we need to get the word count of the document and present to you the timeline options based on that.
What kind of documents can Wordsmith Group translator team work on?
We have three kinds of translation services based on the type of document. The first one is a regular service, like press releases, news articles, reports, etc. The second one is a non-sworn legal document, like agreements, rules and regulations, contracts, etc. The last one is documents needing sworn translation, like birth certificate, marriage certificates, court decisions, etc.
How is the procedure to get the sworn translation service at Wordsmith Group?
As with the regular translation service, we can do it all without meeting face-to-face. You just need to send us an email or a message via WhatsApp, and you will reach the Client Service of Wordsmith Group. Payments can be done through bank transfer and we can send you the translated document via email, even the hard copy version should you need one. All of our sworn translations will have an official stamp of the Sworn Translator, which signifies that the document has been translated by a translator acknowledged by our government and that the result is legally legitimate.
How much is the translation service at Wordsmith Group?
The fee depends on some variables, like the working language pair, the timeline needed, and the type of document. The fee for a sworn translation is different than a translation fee for a regular document. All our translation fee refers to the translation fee standard set by the government, including the fee for a sworn translation. To get our complete translation rate, feel free to email us at info@wordsmithgroup.com.
Does a sworn translation have a higher level of difficulty compared to a regular translation?
That is not always the case. Some legal texts like court documents have a higher level of difficulty, as they are full of legal jargon that might be different from the ones in the Indonesian system. But, the type of documents that need to be translated by a sworn translator is quite varied, like crime and civil court documents, notary documents, agreements or contracts, business transaction documents, and some personal documents to arrange marriage or divorce, visa application, school application abroad, insurance claim, etc.
What is the qualification of Wordsmith Group’s translation team, both regular and sworn ones?
All of the members of the in-house translator team of Wordsmith Group are members of HPI (Himpunan Penerjemah Indonesia), which is the biggest organization for translators in Indonesia. All of our translators are at the senior level, with more than 10 years of experience, and mastering various kinds of manuscripts. Meanwhile, the sworn translator of Wordsmith Group has been actively working since 2009, passed the Ujian Kualifikasi Penerjemah (UKP), obtained the UKP certificate, and has been sworn by the minister/ the authorized officials as the requirement in the law and regulations.
Are there any translation services to foreign languages other than English?
We have handled translations to Arabic, Dutch, French, Spanish, Tagalog, Mandarin, Japanese, German, Malay, Burmese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Urdu. We work together with a network of local and international translators for other languages, like when we translated a document from English into Sasak language.
